Volunteer With Us!
Missing Pet Partnership (MPP) is working to launch an innovative pilot project in King County (WA) that will involve physical searches for lost pets using detective-like skills, including search dogs trained to find lost pets.
Would you like to help animals and the people who love them? Please consider becoming involved and help Missing Pet Partnership build an innovative program in King County (and ultimately on a national level) that will reduce shelter kill rates and reunite lost companion animals with the families who love them! Volunteers are needed to help build our organization and to help search for lost pets. We are looking for people who love animals and who have the time needed to help search for them.
Volunteer meetings are currently held once a month and dog trainings are held every Saturday morning (visit our Seattle Pet Detectives page for a schedule of events). While we used to meet in Kent, we recently made the decision to move north. We are in the process of looking for meeting space in West Seattle.
Here's a list of some of the things that we need volunteers to help us with:
- Develop and edit our national newsletter
- Secure silent auction and raffle items for our fund raisers
- Assist in the planning and launch of fund raising events
- Misc. projects in our Federal Way office
- Booth events (sales and/or customer service skills preferred)
- Public Relations / Media
- Board development
- Pet Detective for Lost Pet Investigations
- Lost Dog Surveillance / Capture
- Lost Cat Surveillance / Capture
- Lost pet poster creation
- Intersection Alerts (holding lost dog protests at intersections)
- K9 Training Assistant
If you live in King County and you'd like to join our team, you can apply by filling out our Volunteer Application (PDF) and our Volunteer Release of Liability (PDF) forms. Mail these completed forms to: Missing Pet Partnership, Volunteer Manager, P.O. Box 3085, Federal Way, WA 98063.
